What are your music references and why?

For a start I am also curious what Michael's reference music/recordings are (Eg somewhere I read Christine McVie, but what recording?)

For me I got several collected through the years while developing my loudspeakers and having listening sessions after each step. One recording I always use for evaluating mid/vocals and ambiance is Diane Krall, Live in Paris track11 "Case of you"...nice opening as well with the little coughs in the audience.

Wow, Big Question! Welcome to TuneLand BTW.

My music collection grows so fast that I think my personal references get lost in the shuffle. In my younger years I had more specific recording references. Now that I'm aged (like a fine wine I hope) I think my criteria for a reference has changed.

I guess my system threads probably cover somewhat of a list. "Live in Paris" is a great listen! I like anything Diana.

I like Christine's solo work (always been a fan), but I think Fleetwood Mac probably brought the best out of her. I have to flip through my Mac to see what song I was talking about. While looking through my CD's though I grabbed "The Dance" and threw it on since we were talking about live recordings. Very Nice!
