When did you get started listening and how? And what got you into the High End part, if you did get into high end?

There wasn't a single event that got Sonic into really listening but one day I got invited to listen to what I was told would be a special system. It was a Maplenoll turntable with a parallel tracking arm and an Audio Technica OC9 moving coil, a transformer and Quicksilver pre/main amps driving Spica TC50s. The record played was Graceland by Paul Simon. It was so musical and I heard so much more musick there was no turning back after that.

That's interesting cause one of my first major turning points in my high end listening was done when Hearts & Bones by Paul Simon came out. I was turning the corner for about two years before this but this was one of the Lp's that really made me rethink highend.

Paul does these recordings that seem simple but go outside the box really easy and when listening have a way of transporting you.

I had pro stuff around me early on but always felt like there was more that even the studios were not giving.

I remember the setup your talking about too. This was a big hit in the circles. In 89 I think it was, I did Spica's room in Vegas CES and the TC50 was there.
