| Starting a thread on shielding and some of the specifics about Mu-Metal in particular and other techniques, experiences and opinions. There are other articles on the topic throughout TuneLand but not sure if these are as easy to find. | I want to start off with a diagram. Of course if you visit TuneLand much your going to end up seeing a lot of spheres. Why? Spheres are the shapes of physics (nature). Without them we have imbalance in our fundamental forces systems. It's important to know this because the active "vibratory code" is as important as the fundamental forces (interaction) themselves and how the system works with the science of chemical structures https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structural_elucidation . We're always tempted to separate the forces into many little categories and boxes, but a lot of times this leads to us focusing on one part of physics over looking other "Crucial Ingredients". For example in the case of shielding the magnetic field, if we focus only on the dampening factor we can screw up the "natural" harmonic structures a signal conduit needs to be complete, or flexible. Let me show you Here's what happens shielding a wire. With this shield being this close, look how out of balance the harmonic structure gets. This is a lot of signal lost as well as puting the musical notes themselves "out-of-tune". The oscillative (vibratory) pitch is disrupted and you will hear an off timed pattern, just like when tuning a guitar. In soundstage terms, your space becomes less than full size with parts and pieces of the sound always in a sense of give and take. not hearing more but focusing on less This is called "signal compression" and in reality, is far more compression being applied than some of the most studio compressed music. I don't mean to be critical, but perhaps you meant spheres are found a lot in *physics* and the models humans have depicted of electrons, atoms, chemical compounds, etc. as well as the application of the sphere to designs of many objects.
In Nature; by contrast, it is common scientific knowledge that it can be mathematically best described using Fractals; and less so Fibonacci sequences and combinatorics.
Here are a few quotes taken from wikipedia regarding fractals and nature:
"In 1975. Mandelbrot based it on the Latin frāctus meaning "broken" or "fractured", and used it to extend the concept of theoretical fractional dimensions to geometric patterns in nature."
"Fractals are not limited to geometric patterns, but can also describe processes in time.[1][5][12] Fractal patterns with various degrees of self-similarity have been rendered or studied in images, structures and sounds[13] and found in nature"
"As one illustration, trees, ferns, cells of the nervous system,[18] blood and lung vasculature,[36] and other branching patterns in nature can be modeled on a computer by using recursive algorithms and L-systems techniques.[18] The recursive nature of some patterns is obvious in certain examples—a branch from a tree or a frond from a fern is a miniature replica of the whole: not identical, but similar in nature. Similarly, random fractals have been used to describe/create many highly irregular real-world objects"
I think that is sufficient to prove my point.

| Hi Ron No biggie Even fractals have to respond to spheres, whether they are taking on or giving off energy, or by the fact that they are part of a bigger system of oscillation. Math is a language not a shape, nature is a shape in action and the function of the whole with many parts. "a geometrical or physical structure having an irregular or fragmented shape at all scales of measurement between a greatest and smallest scale such that certain mathematical or physical properties of the structure, as the perimeter of a curve or the flow rate in a porous medium, behave as if the dimensions of the structure (fractal dimensions) are greater than the spatial dimensions." Look at the words "irregular or fragmented shape", "curve", "flow", "porous medium". Spacial dimensions still have to reside in space and the shape of nature. To cut to the chase without there being a debate here. Get out your telescope and tell me how many square or triangle stars you see. So to respond. I don't see fractals as being out of line with the original statement and wouldn't want to marginalize the shape of nature. Fractals are "a part" of the system but can't be equal to the motion of the overall. Fractal after all does mean broken, part of a whole but not equal to the whole. The whole is a continuum and any fragmented part or piece is just that. It still has value of course, but must submit to the whole. | |

Sorry if I did come off a little strong..but science and math are *my* "back yard", and I can't help but to start spouting off things when people talk about science! I mean most of what I say out of excitement and my passion for science; not to upset or turn into argument. I am also more mindful now of how to interact here; but it will take me some time to settle in appropriately.
I ask everyone to have patience as I go through this process and thank everyone in advance for their patience as well as welcoming me back to such a wonderful place.
