As an into, I am not a natural born reviewer in the traditional sense. I don't use an editor or use the same protocol usually associated with magazines promoting ad space. Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily see harm in this practice, it's just that my calling to the industry is a different one. I'm a listener born to help listeners.
I have in fact wrote and published many reviews, but did most of them within the context of a public forum. I say these things because I don't wish to upset or be a part of the reviewing community as the status quo. I need and want to remain somewhat raw and not audiophile-ish correct. I have no need to polish my audio ego shoes before walking into the studio, hall or listening room. My ego is in the end result and the actual doing of the industry. I appreciate that this has brought me some fame and credibility but I have always felt a little weird with some of my offices plastered with trophies, awards and plaques of achievements.
As I continue to work on reviewing I want readers to know my job is in the listening rooms of the world and reviewing has to take a back seat time wise. "MG Reviews" is a place where I hope to bring these stories events and experiences to life so those reading get yet another unique viewpoint of the industry.
