| In 2018 I won almost every Ebay auction I was a part of, unbelievable . There were maybe a couple of music auctions I paid too much but for the most part Cds fell into my possession all year long. Just a year before some of these cds I couldn't touch for under $100.00 or so and of course I passed. Then this year I would score on the same cd for 14 bucks or so. I even bought cd lots for like 12 bucks. My shopping GoodWill paid off bigtime too. Regular price $1.99 plus the senior discount I was in heaven. Redbook CDs Baby! With people downloading and signing up on online services, Redbooks have come down tremendously. Why Redbook for me? The way I do my tuning and listening Redbook is perfect for me. I pop that recording on repeat and wait till it calls my name. Then I decide if I'm going to tune or not. | |

| Why else RedBook? Still, I am completely blown away at those who haven't yet picked up the Maggie Player . I think I now have over 20 of them This year visiting with folks I wished I had packed my Maggie and brought it over to their place. The magic of the Redbook (to me) is not uncovered by the typical CDP, it just comes up short. A big part of this is placing bigger transformers too close to the chips, and other parts as far as that goes. But that's not all, the Magnavox is simply a soundstage and tonal balance monster. Every passing year my respect goes up for that fluke of a CDP. | |
