| Hello Michael and Coop, My dilemma is my room is a very small spare bedroom that also doubles as music storage and computer desk area. My two channel audio system consists of a JPauls Rack, Luxman 505ux integrated amp, Teac SACD player, Realistic vintage receiver as a tuner, and EPOS Elan 15 speakers. I wanted to add an SVS sealed subwoofer but have been told subs can be especially bad in small rooms especially if the room is not set up optimally in the 1st place (treatments and speaker placement). I had checked with "one of the other guys" (and very expensive) a year ago maybe and seeing the pictures he thought the room was even tight and told me things I'm unwilling to do such as put a treatment panel right in front of the record storage cubes. I am sending 4 pictures in hopes you can tell me what will fit and what you'd suggest and whether then adding a sub would be worth it. Who knows might even be worth to put a pillow in 1 or 2 cubes of each Kallax storage unit...? But I will leave up to you, based on my photos, to tell me what you think based on the photos....and if the room is "tuneable" in its current state. In response to Coop's question on my email--yes the door to the room--looking to exit--the top left corner is 90 degree rt angle but the upper rt corner angle is much more--or gentle as you termed it. I'm fairly happy with the sound now but I know with so many hard surfaces in the room it can be better. The forum will not allow me to display the 4 flickr hosted images via bbcode for 7 days. They can be found at flickr.com/photos/armyslowrdr/sets/72157654212300288 Pete Kutheis Killeen, TX | |

| Hi Pete
The CeilingTunes are put up with Dry-wall screws. However you can use the EchoTune on the ceiling as well with push pins, so if that is easier for you, your good to go.
have fun with your system, let me know if there is anything else you want to explore
Harold will take good care of you.

| One further question Michael. I think the tunes go across seams and not flush correct--for example in photos in Toledo's system the tunes are installed across angles and not sitting flush into a seam.....correct ? In other words a tune placed at a wall ceiling junction..it would be pinned at ceiling and wall and there'd be a gap underneath the pillow ?? Is that right. I want to make sure I put them up correctly ! - Michael Green wrote:

| Hi Pete
I'll walk you through the placement and use. I see someplaces I would start with them across the seams and some flat.
Like I said we'll walk through this as you are puting them up.

| Installed 12 room tunes this evening. It seems to have tamed down the bouncing reflections I was getting right side of room. The room doesn't seem as lively. Not sure that is good or bad yet. Will know tomorrow evening when I can crank the volume. Great White on the table. I'll give a holler if I need anything. | |

| Greetings Pete
Welcome to Tuneland!
What are the loudspeakers on either side of your computer screen? Nice vintage look.
What is your turntable and cartridge?

| Sonic, The Advents at my desk area or Advent Smallers and exude a warm sound that at times I like better than the EPOS Elans that are for the main listening spot. Turntable is a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon ---running a Denon DL103 moving coil cart with it. Michael---will do some photos after a bit...... - Sonic.beaver wrote:

After several listening sessions now with the tunes and the 2 SVS sealed subwoofers I've come to the conclusion right side room reflection is tamed. The bass is tighter and there is deep bass on lots of LPs that was not present before. Mostly the sound has improved. I have noted on some meh mixes such as Foo Fighters latest---the who cares mix (practically everything mixed center) practically puts me to sleep. Older classic rock records mixed well seem best. Here they are:

| The vintage Advent sound holds a special place in my ears as well. I've often thought if I was going to build vintage systems Avent would be on the list. Nice to see them on TuneLand. | |
