I can adapt to a couple of different climates including those that are hot as long as they are not too humid. That was a major pitfall to living in the Kansas City area. Cincinnati is not as hot and humid as the KC region. Not sure how well I could handle 110 to 120 degree heat though.

Staying in central Indiana is not an option. Several reasons of course but one of the biggest is the air quality. Terrible here. When I drive to Cincinnati or even SE Indiana, I can suddenly breathe pretty well and my energy level is much improved. When I get back to central Indiana the sinus conditions return and the energy gets sapped out of me. Even noted this on a drive down to Bloomington to the SW as well. Bad air quality there too. Ultimately my sinuses will tell me which areas are going to be acceptable for living and which won't. Indy has the worst air quality of any place I've lived. Even worse than KC.

After I get resettled I will be probably be shopping for another pair of speakers for my second system unless I can figure out a way to use the Mirage OM 10's that are currently boxed up to keep a pet from clawing them. If I can get a dedicated room with a shut door then I may be able to use them again.

Toledo said you are going to market some new speakers to the public? Will this happen within the next year? At what price point will they start at? I have to admit I am quite happy with the Jamo C 601 bookshelf speaker I am using with the slightly "tuned" system I have at present. More tuning will take place once I get into a house and have a better environment to work in.

I completely understand the climate conditions story. When I leave my area I sometimes become very ill. My body can no longer fight off humidity for some reason. Another huge plus is the dry air sounds more than good, systems out here sound incredible cause the sound waves have close to perfect conditions to travel through and the material has close to perfect conditions to respond.

Anything above 30% humidity listening is like using an on and off switch. Somedays you can walk in and hear things and say "this is pretty good" and other days "what happened to my system". I aways cringe just a little when someone hears their system go south suddenly, cause I know what the humidty can do to things. For example, here you can hear your system take this nice long movement and adaptation when the weather changes through the day, but in places with a bigger swing a system can go from glory to crash in an hour.

Yes, speakers will be coming out this year (we plan). The range of price will depend on the amount of voicing that we will be doing to them. I however have talked to Harold about you possibly wanting a pair and we are going to try to be in your price range on a set for you even if the price structure is way higher for retail clients.

Wow.  Never new hugh midity could impact the audio so much.  I always figured thicker air would lead to a deadening of the music but my guess is there is more to it than that.  BTW. Do you have a medical condition that makes it difficult to deal with damp climates? I know that some people really realize health benefits from a semi arid or arid climate. I am OK with a semi arid climate having lived in western Kansas and the Denver area for a couple of months. Not sure how I would do long term in a desert climate though.

I appreciate the offer to build a speaker I can afford.  My best guess is that I will have around $500 budgeted for another pair of speakers.  After I see what kind of house I buy and where, I will have a better idea of what I can afford.  First and foremost getting a better home in an area where I am not going to have problems with the people is my priority at this moment.  And then purchasing the tables and other tuning gear that I can afford will be next in line.

Just a quick note to let you know I am still alive. Have to concentrate on getting the house issue straightened out before I can worry about my stereo. Will be back here once that is settled.

Just wanted to let you know I am still alive and kicking but a whole lot poorer than the last time I was on the board.

I just had to put a new engine into my car and also had some other work done. I was only able to work part time for five weeks while I waited on the engine and parts and have it installed. Out thousands! As a result I will not be able to upgrade my speakers like I had hoped. Also that Funai DVD player already kicked the bucket at the same time my 13 year old Cambridge Audio CD player! September was a very bad month. Pulled a Technics CD player circa 1999 out of mothballs and that seems to be working just fine. Rarely used back then.

Now I do not have the money I need to do most of the work at the house or even shop for a new one unless I sell the existing home first. Not in the cards right now.

Can you recommend a decent pair of headphones that I can use if those plaster walls in my house create real trouble with the speakers? Budget is around $100 maybe a bit more. This seems to be the best way around the problem.
